The Skeet finals at the 38th National Games showcased remarkable precision and composure as Anantjeet Naruka of Rajasthan and Ganemat Sekhon of Punjab emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
Naruka clinched the gold with a final score of 56, while Ganemat Sekhon dominated the women’s final with a score of 53.
Men’s Skeet Overview
A total of 15 participants competed in the qualification round, with the top six shooters advancing to the finals. Rajasthan’s Anantjeet Singh led the qualifiers with an impressive score of 122, followed by Telangana’s Munek Battula with 120.
Rituraj Singh Bundela of Madhya Pradesh secured the third spot with 119, while Punjab’s Harmehar Singh Lally (118), Chandigarh’s Parampal Singh Guron (117), and Punjab’s Bhavtegh Singh Gill (116+4) completed the list of finalists.
In the men’s final, Parampal Singh Guron from Chandigarh put up a strong fight, securing the silver medal with a final score of 51. The bronze medal went to Punjab’s Bhavtegh Singh Gill, who finished with a score of 42.
Women’s Skeet Qualification Overview
The women’s qualification round featured 17 participants, with Punjab’s Ganemat Sekhon setting the pace at 124 points.
Uttar Pradesh’s Areeba Khan (114) and Haryana’s Raiza Dhillon (115+4) followed closely behind. Rajasthan’s Darshna Rathore (115+3), Telangana’s Rashmmi Rathore (112+4), and Madhya Pradesh’s Vanshika Tiwari (116) rounded off the top six, earning their places in the final.
Meanwhile, the women’s final saw Uttar Pradesh’s Areeba Khan claim silver with a score of 45, followed by Haryana’s Raiza Dhillon, who took the bronze with 36 points.
The Skeet competition highlighted exceptional talent, with both seasoned shooters and rising stars making their mark. The event concluded with the medalists receiving accolades for their stellar performances, setting a high standard for future competitions.
