The fourth and final day of Taekwondo at the 38th National Games witnessed intense competition as athletes battled for supremacy in both Kyorugi and Poomsae categories.
With power-packed performances and strategic combat, the event wrapped up on a high note, crowning champions across multiple weight divisions.
In the Kyorugi Female Under 53 Kg category, Gujarat’s Xena Dipesh Raja clinched the gold medal, edging out Chandigarh’s Raksha Chahar, who settled for silver.
The bronze medals were secured by Uttarakhand’s Latika Bhandari and Kerala’s Shivangi Chanambam. In the Under 67 Kg category, Kerala’s Margerette Maria Regi emerged victorious, while Maharashtra’s Siddhi Atul Bendale finished second.
The bronze medals went to Madhu Singh from Uttar Pradesh and Keerthana K from Tamil Nadu.
The men’s Kyorugi competitions were equally thrilling.
Uttarakhand’s Nitesh Singh secured gold in the Under 63 Kg category, defeating Haryana’s Har Ajay Kumar, who took silver.
Kerala’s Srijith B and Madhya Pradesh’s Aditya Prajapati bagged the bronze medals. In the Under 80 Kg category, Delhi’s Shivansh Tyagi dominated his final bout to claim gold, while SSCB’s Akshay Hooda took silver.
Gujarat’s Tej Patel and Kerala’s Manu George settled for bronze.
In the Poomsae events, Arunachal Pradesh’s women’s team, featuring Uli Lumter, Bangsia Radha, and Sangha Achum, delivered a flawless routine to win gold.
Manipur’s trio of Mangshatabam Umelly, Lamnganbi Chanu Soaraisam, and Bijaya Devi Irom earned silver.
Assam and Kerala secured the bronze medals. Meanwhile, in the men’s Poomsae category, Mizoram’s team of Vanlalfela H, Lalhumthanga Daniel, and Lalthlampuampuia put on a stellar performance to take gold.
SSCB’s team won silver, while Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh claimed the bronze medals.
As Taekwondo concluded at the 38th National Games, the event showcased top-tier talent, determination, and sportsmanship.
